Inspired by a message on sin, with additions of stress, and starting fresh
We live in a world that constantly asks us to adapt—to stress, to pressure, to dysfunction. We adapt to sitting too long, not sleeping enough, eating what’s convenient, and carrying emotional weight that was never ours to carry. We even adapt spiritually—learning to minimize or “live with” sin, shame, and guilt instead of laying it down for good.
But let me remind you:Adaptation is not the same as transformation .
Your nervous system was created by God to respond, recover, and restore. It’s brilliant. It is without mistake, just like the God who created it. However, it was never meant to stay in a constant state of fight, flight, or freeze. Likewise, your soul wasn’t designed to live under the weight of unresolved burdens.
God wants to heal you—fully. Body, mind, and soul.
This week, I want to challenge you with a simple but profound truth:Be done with it, so you can get on with it.
Whatever “it” is for you—fear, unforgiveness, exhaustion, addiction, shame, chronic stress, or the subtle lies you’ve believed about your worth or your health—God is saying: Let it go. Don’t manage it. Don’t cover it up. Don’t adapt to it. Be done with it.
Only when interference is removed can healing begin. That’s true in your nervous system, and it’s true in your soul.
Here at The Premier Life, we talk a lot about the nervous system / offsetting patterns of stress, and that’s vital. But real health comes when you choose to align your mindset, your lifestyle, and your spirit with the truth of God’s design. When you step into that alignment, healing accelerates. Not just physically, but emotionally and spiritually.
The world teaches you to sedate. Jesus calls you to be free.
So let me ask you a bold question this week:What are you still holding onto that God is asking you to be done with? What do you need to release so you can finally move forward, fully present and fully alive?
“You can't go back and change the beginning, but you can start where you are and change the ending.”— C.S. Lewis
"Throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us."— Hebrews 12:1
God has marked out a race for you. He’s given you a life of purpose. He wants you to have health, clarity, and peace. Just know, you can’t run freely while carrying weight you were never meant to bear. I’m praying that this is the week you lay it down.
Let this be the week you choose:
Clarity over chaos
Freedom over frustration and
Transformation over adaptation.
Be done with it, so you can get on with it.
We are honored to be your health care ministry.
Love you guys,
Dr. Matt Horn
